BBL HEROic™ Before & After
Each picture below represents real results from real patients.
How does it work?
BBL® stands for “Broad Band Light“. It is an intense white light that is filtered between different wavelengths depending on what skin condition is being treated. BBL can be used on most skin types, including tan skin and any part of the body. The light energy delivered by BBL will gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate.
BBL HEROic is Sciton’s cutting-edge BBL technology. This advanced treatment effectively targets various skin concerns, from sun damage and rosacea to dullness and pigmentation issues. BBL HEROic utilizes innovations like Intelligent Control™ (IC™) software and Skin Positioning System™ (SPS™) for faster, more comfortable treatments, delivering outstanding results.
Are BBL HEROic treatments painful?
A treatment with BBL HEROic is generally well-tolerated by most patients. It is commonly described as feeling like a quick snap on the skin, with the sensation fading swiftly as the handheld device pulses over the skin. Thanks to BBL HEROic’s CoolComfort™ technology, which cools the epidermis during the procedure, topical anesthesia is not necessary. After the treatment, it is normal for the skin to feel warm for about 30 to 60 minutes.
What to Expect During a BBL HEROic Treatment?
During the treatment, a clear gel is applied, and pulsed light is delivered to the skin to target pigmented and vascular areas. The treatment is generally well-tolerated, with minimal discomfort, and there is typically no need for anesthesia due to CoolComfort™ technology.
How many treatments will I need?
You will need an initial package of three BBL treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Additional treatments may be needed for deeply damaged skin or rosacea. We. recommend that you come back 1-3 times a year for maintenance treatments, to target any new pigmentation that surfaces and stop the clock, Making your skin age backwards!
Is there any downtime?
There is minimal-to-no downtime following treatment with BBL HEROic. Patients can typically resume normal activities immediately.
- Skin sensitivity: Your skin may feel sensitive, like a mild sunburn, but this typically subsides within 48 hours.
- Healing process: You might notice temporary darkening of pigmented areas, along with some redness and swelling. These are part of the natural healing process where damaged cells are replaced by new ones, repairing your skin.
- Post-treatment care: Follow your provider’s advice, avoid direct sun exposure, and wear broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen to protect the skin, especially during the first 72 hours post-treatment. Depending on the skin’s pre-existing condition, mild discomfort, dryness, or minor crusting may occur.
- Skincare and makeup: You can typically resume using skincare products and makeup within 1-2 days post-treatment.
What results can I expect after a BBL HEROic treatment?
A week or two after a BBL HEROic treatment, your skin will appear more even, youthful, glowing, and smooth. Visible results can be seen in just 1 to 2 treatments, while optimal results are generally seen after completing a series of treatments spaced a few weeks apart. Your skin will continue to improve in the weeks and months following your BBL HEROic sessions.
Can I combine BBL HEROic with other treatments?
BBL HEROic is easily combined with other Sciton modalities, such as HALO® and MOXI™, for enhanced results and less downtime. It may also be combined with other minimally invasive procedures, such as injectable fillers or BOTOX®. During your consultation, your provider will create a plan to address your skin’s unique needs.
Is there any reason I should not get a BBL treatment?
You are not a candidate for BBL treatments if you:
- Cannot stay out of the sun for your entire healing process
- Are pregnant or nursing
- Have been on Accutane in the past 12 months
- Have a history of significant keloid scar formation
- Have melasma
