Unveiling the Power of Bioregenerative Treatments: Sculptra and Hyperdilute Radiesse
In recent years, the field of Aesthetic Medicine has witnessed remarkable advancements in the realm of bioregenerative treatments. These innovative procedures offer a natural and long-lasting solution for various aesthetic concerns, including facial rejuvenation and volume restoration.
“A Fountain of Youth in a Vial”:
Sculptra is a unique dermal filler that utilizes poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to stimulate collagen production, resulting in a gradual and natural-looking facial rejuvenation. Traditional hyaluronic acid fillers are jelly-like in consistency and used for contour, sculpting, and shape. These fillers provide immediate results. Sculptra is water-like in consistency, and when injected just below the surface of the skin, triggers the body’s natural healing response, promoting the production of new collagen, strengthening skin, and creating glow. This gradual approach ensures a subtle and natural outcome.
The Power of Collagen Stimulation:
Collagen, the structural protein responsible for maintaining the firmness and elasticity of our skin, naturally begins to decline in our mid-to late 20’s and continues to decrease as we age. The decrease becomes more noticeable in our 30’s and 40’s, leading to common signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, and less elastic skin. Sculptra’s bioregenerative properties allow it to stimulate collagen production and restore lost volume, effectively reversing or slowing the signs of aging.
By promoting the body’s own regenerative processes, Sculptra yields long-lasting results that can last up to two years. Most patients will opt to have one treatment per year, to keep the collagen stimulation going.
How Many Treatments?
To “tank up” on collagen, Sculptra will require 2-3 treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart. The treatment is relatively comfortable with lidocaine numbing at the injection site. Lidocaine is also added to the Sculptra reconstitution solution.
Redness, swelling and/or bruising may result from Sculptra injections, but these are temporary side effects and will resolve within two – three weeks.
Aftercare:
- 5, 5, 5, Massage 5 days, for 5 minutes, 5 times a day. We will teach you how to massage areas treated using firm pressure.
- For comfort and to accelerate healing: Ice the areas injected for the first 48 hours
- Tylenol 325mg-500mg every 3-4 hours (if you are sore)
- Arnica sublingual (under the tongue) and/or Arnica Cream help resolve bruising.
Hyperdilute Radiesse: The “Liquid Facelift” Alternative
Hyperdilute Radiesse, also known as Radiesse+, is a dual action, bioregenerative treatment that offers collagen production while providing immediate volumizing effects. Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite-based filler. Calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres not only provide immediate volume by filling in wrinkles and creases, but also stimulates collagen production over time. Collagen production stimulated by Hyperdilute Radiesse helps improve skin texture, tighten slightly loose skin, and restore facial contours.
The Treatment Process:
Hyperdilute Radiesse treatments involve injecting the diluted solution into the targeted areas of the face or body using a needle or thin, blunt tip cannula. We like to use cannula for most of our dermal filler treatments. We find that the procedure is more comfortable and there tends to be less bruising. Most patients require 2 treatments. The treatments are spaced 4-6 weeks apart. This procedure is well-tolerated, and lidocaine is added to the reconstituted Radiesse. Mild swelling and bruising may occur, but these side effects typically resolve within a few days. The results of Hyperdilute Radiesse can last up to 18 months or longer, depending on an individual’s lifestyle factors.
